Skissernas Museum – Museum of Artistic Process and Public Art is a unique art museum dedicated to the artistic creative process. The museum is part of Lund University and holds the world’s largest collection of sketches, models, and preparatory works for Swedish and international public art.

The museum’s collection spans modern and contemporary art – from small pencil drawings to colorful monumental paintings and large-scale plaster sculptures. It includes sketches by international artists such as Henri Matisse, Sonia Delaunay, Henry Moore, and Fernand Léger, as well as one of Europe’s foremost collections of sketches by Mexican muralists such as Diego Rivera and David Alfaro Siqueiros.

Among the Swedish artists represented are Sigrid Hjertén, Isaac Grünewald, and Siri Derkert, along with contemporary artists such as Linn Fernström, Gerhard Nordström, and Matthias van Arkel.

In addition to its permanent exhibitions, the museum presents a series of temporary exhibitions each year, featuring both contemporary and earlier artists.

The museum also offers a rich and varied program for all ages, including guided tours, artist talks, lectures, concerts, performances, creative workshops, and much more.

Furthermore, the museum houses an extensive archive of images and press clippings on public art from Swedish and international newspapers and magazines, dating from the 1930s to the present.
