Anna-Karin Persson has a diverse work experience in the fields of education and scientific research. Anna-Karin began their career as a Laboratory Assistant at Danderyds Sjukhus AB. Anna-Karin then pursued their Ph.D. training at Karolinska Institutet, focusing on identifying molecular mechanisms related to injury-induced chronic pain. Following their Ph.D., they worked as a Postdoctoral Researcher at Yale University, studying neuronal and glial cellular and molecular mechanisms associated with injury to the nervous system.
Anna-Karin later transitioned into the field of education, working as a Teacher of Science and Mathematics at Utbildning Silverdal school. Anna-Karin also served as a Candidate at Teach For Sweden, educating students in mathematics and science at the elementary school level while participating in a leadership training program.
Anna-Karin continued their career at Bonnier Education as an Editor for Clio Online, where they were responsible for developing the platform's assessment tool for measuring students' knowledge in science subjects. Currently, Anna-Karin is the Director of Education at Skolverket, where they are involved in various aspects of the national testing system and assessment in a school context.
