Claes Andersson

Claes Andersson has a diverse work experience in the education sector. Claes is currently serving as the Director of Education at Skolverket since June 2022, where their role is focused on addressing inequity in schools across Sweden. Prior to this, they held the same position at Skolverket from May 2018. Claes also has experience as the owner of Hippocampus, starting from September 2008, where they provided support and education for leadership teams in improvement projects in schools. Claes worked as a Biträde Redor (Assistant Principal) at Malmö stad from August 2016 to August 2018. Earlier, they served as a Project Manager at Skolverket from January 2015 to July 2015, where they played a crucial role in improving Science Education throughout the Swedish Education System. Claes has also worked as the Director of Education at Myndigheten för skolutveckling from March 2005 to September 2008. Their career began as a Principal at Sundsbroskolan from 1999 to 2005 and at Spångholmsskolan, Bara from 1994 to 1999.

Claes Andersson graduated with a Master's degree in Science from Lund University in the years 1980 to 1985. In 1998 to 2001, they pursued a Rektorsutbildning (Rektor) program at Lund University. Later, in 2011 to 2013, they obtained a Master's degree in Education from Malmö University. In addition to their academic degrees, Claes obtained a certification as a Teacher- Science and Mathematics from the School Principal institution in October 2011.
