Eric Markström has a diverse and extensive work experience in the field of IT. Eric started their career as a Materials Planner at Scania in 1995. Eric then worked at AstraZeneca Pharmaceuticals, where they held various roles such as Project Manager and Manager of Systems Management. Eric was responsible for leading IT projects, coordinating global reorganization, and managing business intelligence and finance systems.

In 2008, Eric joined Scania CV as a Manager of IT Coordination and Development before moving on to Svenska Kraftnät, where they served as Senior Vice President and CIO, overseeing the IT Infrastructure and Platform. Eric was responsible for managing servers, workplaces, databases, helpdesk services, and systems management.

Eric later joined Scania Group, where they held the position of Senior Manager. Eric oversaw sales and services IT, agile software development, CRM systems, sales systems, and web platforms. Eric also served as Head of Development, IT & Digitalization at Dustin Group, responsible for software development and maintenance.

Currently, Eric works at Skolverket as the Head of Infrastructure and Platform. Eric is in charge of IT infrastructure, operations, and platform management. With their expertise in Linux, Windows, networks, IT security, and integrations, they lead a team of 30 employees.

Throughout their career, Eric has demonstrated strong leadership skills and a focus on business value through continuous deliveries, agility, and digitalization.

Eric Markström attended Södertörn University, where they studied Economics. Eric obtained additional certifications including "Certifierad styrelseledamot" from StyrelseAkademien in June 2015, "Certifierad CIO" from Dataföreningen Kompetens in April 2013, and "IT Governance and Strategy COBIT 5" from ITpreneurs in 2012.
