Hugo Wester

Hugo Wester has extensive experience in education and human rights advocacy, having served as a Departementssekreterare at the Regeringskansliet's Utbildningsdepartementet from 2017 to 2021, where they focused on democracy and values within the school system. From 2009 to 2012, Hugo was responsible for exhibition pedagogy at the Forum för levande historia, leading a team of educators and overseeing various developmental projects. Additionally, Hugo has held positions as Nämndeman at Domstolsverket and Undervisningsråd at Skolverket, where they addressed issues related to school values and democratic education. Currently, Hugo works as an utbildningskonsult for the Council of Europe, contributing to the development of a Nordic version of a curriculum on competencies for democratic culture. They hold multiple degrees, including a Bachelor's in History from Stockholm University.
