John Smart

John Smart is an experienced data and finance professional, currently serving as the Head of Data at Sky since January 2017, where responsibilities include strategy support, funding acquisition, and team management for data product delivery. Prior roles at Sky involved leading a team for data solutions as Portfolio Lead, identifying opportunities as Customer Account Lead, and innovating reporting solutions as Head of Reporting. From 2009 to 2017 at Sky IQ, John acted as Head of Reporting and Head of Information Interpretation, focusing on customer intelligence and business insights. Earlier experience at BSkyB included various roles culminating as Financial Controller, overseeing significant subscriber revenue forecasting. John's career began at Unilever as a Financial Analyst while completing a CIMA qualification. John holds a BSc. (Hons) in Geography from Durham University, completed in 1995.
