Simon Yuen has over 18 years of work experience in various roles. Simon began their career in 2002 as a Safety Technician for Covenant Security Services. In 2005, they joined Topcon Positioning Systems as a Senior Software Engineer, where they worked on embedded software and GUI for controllers and sensors used in machine control and automation of earth moving vehicles. In 2007, they were both VP Operations for Bristlecone Group and Senior Software Engineer for Zilog, where they wrote embedded software in a real time environment and developed an AJAX solution to increase the performance of a wireless internet appliance by 500%. In 2011, they joined Lumenergi, Inc. as a Senior Software Engineer and worked on developing Dali to Zigbee 802.15.4 to BacNet protocols to enable wireless building and lighting functionality in product offerings. In 2012, they became a Senior Software Engineer for Pelagic Pressure Systems, where they developed software for MSP430, ARM9, Cortex A8, and Android with emphasis on power conservation. In 2013, they founded Pegasus Robotics and also became Project Lead for Bay Area Fight for Wildlife / Drones for Good, where they developed low cost fixed wing UAS solutions to protect endangered wildlife in Africa. In 2014, they joined CopyPro/BioMicroLab as a Senior Software Engineer. Since 2015, they have been CEO/CTO and CTO/COO of Skycart, a NASA and FAA partner for UAS logistics.

Simon Yuen is currently enrolled in Stanford University and University of California, Berkeley, pursuing studies in Artificial Intelligence and Remote Sensing respectively. Prior to this, they received a BSEE from San Francisco State University in 1999, majoring in Computer Engineering and minoring in Business. Simon also attended University of California, Davis from 1988 to 1992, studying Engineering Physics. In addition, they have obtained several certifications, including Hardware Security (2017), Budgeting and Scheduling Projects (2016), Foundations of Everyday Leadership (2016), From GPS and Google Maps to Spatial Computing (2014), Machine Learning (2014), Heterogeneous Parallel Programming (2014), and SSI Advanced SCUBA Diver (no year provided).
