Carl Sinclair

Carl Sinclair is currently serving as the Global Information Technology Manager at Skydweller Aero, where they manage a team and oversees the establishment of an IT framework in compliance with NIST 800-171. Prior to their current role, Carl held various positions at the University of Oklahoma, including Network Operations Manager, Network Operations Center Assistant Manager, Portfolio & Project Manager for Security, and IRADS Director. Carl was responsible for managing network operations, leading a team of data monitors, and delivering real-time weather data to customers. Carl also worked as a Research Scientist on the CRAFT research project, where they managed remote Linux machines and collaborated with government, university, and business users to ensure data provision. Carl started their career at the University of Oklahoma as a Systems Analyst.

Carl Sinclair earned a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science from Southwestern Oklahoma State University, where they studied from 1994 to 1998. Prior to attending university, Carl attended Boise City Public Schools; however, no specific degree or field of study is mentioned for their time there. In addition to their formal education, Carl has obtained several certifications, including the Learning Security Frameworks certification from LinkedIn in October 2021, and the CompTIA Security+ certification from LinkedIn in August 2021, which includes specialized modules in threats, attacks, vulnerabilities, secure code design, cryptography, identity and access management, physical security, cloud security, endpoint security, network security, and operations and incident response. Carl also holds certifications in Business Analysis Foundations, Program Management Foundations, ITIL Foundations, and RHCSA. Carl completed the EDUCAUSE Management Institute Alumni program in 2015 and earned credentials in Project Management Fundamentals and Project Management Software from the University of Oklahoma around the same time. Additionally, Carl obtained the ITIL Foundation Certificate in IT Service Management in 2020 and completed a course on Learning Cloud Computing: Core Concepts in 2020 as well.
