Ammar Khan

Ammar Khan has a diverse work experience spanning over a decade. Ammar currently serves as the Chief Operating Officer and Managing Director at SkyFive.world. Prior to that, they worked at Inmarsat where they held various roles including Head of Heterogeneous Networks and 5G, Technical Project Manager for the European Aviation Network, and Principal System Engineer. Notably, they played a key role in inventing the European Aviation Network, the world's first integrated satellite and 4G Air-To-Ground network. Ammar also served as the Physical Layer Design Authority, leading the system engineering and delivery of the next generation Broadband Global Area Network (BGAN) product portfolio. Ammar collaborated with the European Space Agency on the design and successful integration of the new capabilities over the satellite network and user devices. Before their tenure at Inmarsat, Ammar worked as a Scientific Researcher at the University of Surrey.

Ammar Khan's education history begins in 2006 when they enrolled at the University of Surrey to pursue a Master's degree in Satellite Communications. Ammar completed this program in 2007. Following this, they continued their education at the same university and embarked on a PhD program in Mobile Satellite Communications, which they successfully completed in 2011. After a gap of several years, Ammar returned to academia in 2018 to pursue a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at Cranfield School of Management. Ammar completed this program in 2020.
