Mathias Burtscher possesses extensive experience in the aviation and business sectors, currently serving as the Head of Operations for International Airports in Switzerland, along with various leadership roles at skyguide since January 1999. Prior to these positions, Mathias held the role of Head of Area Control Center Zurich, Head of Marketing and Sales, and worked as an Air Traffic Controller, Coach, and Instructor. In addition, Mathias has been the Chairman of the Board at Burtscher Elektro- & Gebäudetechnik AG since August 2020. A former professional soccer player with FC St.Gallen 1879, Mathias's earlier career also includes experience as an Industrial Designer at Bühler Group. Educational qualifications include advanced training in leadership from IMD, a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from HWZ University of Applied Sciences in Business Administration Zurich, and specific training as an Air Traffic Control Officer from swisscontrol training centre, as well as a degree in Industrial Design from BZWU Uzwil.
