We plan and design the best children’s museums in the world. From future-forward vision plans to adventurous exploratory sculptures and restorative sensory environments, we re-imagine what a museum can be: a place of deep connection, discovery, and delight.

Running and growing our own successful museum in Denver, CO offers us valuable insight and experience that we bring to our partners, particularly when customizing strategic planning approaches, meaningfully engaging community, mobilizing boards, and designing extraordinary experiences that energize philanthropic support.

When was the last time you truly felt AWE?

Awe is that deep, almost indescribable feeling when you realize you’re in the presence of something much bigger than yourself. It can stop you in your tracks. It can make your heart race or your chest tighten. Sometimes your skin tingles like your body knows before your mind does: This moment is different.

Maybe you’ve felt it watching your child come into the world.
Or standing at the edge of the ocean, huge waves thundering around you.
Or driving far from the city, stepping into silence, and looking up to see stars spilling across the sky.

Awe is humbling. It can make you feel small, yet deeply connected to everything that came before you… and everything still to come.

Maybe you’ve felt awe in a national park. At the top of a swaying tree. At church, the ballpark, or in a moment of music that hit you square.

I’ve felt it in museums too.

Recently, a prospective client asked how Skyhouse Studio ensures our designs support classroom learning. And the truth is, we don’t. At least, not directly.

We’re chasing something else.
We’re chasing that short intake of breath.
That flicker of goosebumps.
We’re chasing awe.
