Skyland Performa builds custom software and AI automation systems for small and mid-size businesses — the kind of systems that replace spreadsheets, email threads, and manual processes with software that actually works.
Most of our clients are running their business on tools that weren't built for what they're doing. Inventory tracked across Google Sheets and group texts. AP documents photographed on phones and forwarded to whoever's free. Insurance claims reviewed line by line. The work gets done, but it's slow, mistakes happen, and it doesn't scale.
We build the system that replaces all of it — end to end. Database, backend, frontend, AI integration where it adds value, payments, automation. Not a prototype. Production software that runs the business.
What we work on:
Custom internal tools and dashboards. AI document processing pipelines. Inventory and operations systems. Payment integrations. Google Workspace automation. SaaS platforms.
Recent and current work:
AI-powered accounts payable automation for a multi-location restaurant operation in Denver. A real-time multi-location inventory management system with automated invoicing and notifications. A back office automation engagement with a Denver law firm. SupSonic (supsonicapp.com) — a SaaS platform for roofing contractors that surfaces missed supplement items on insurance estimates.
The background:
Skyland Performa was founded in 2020 by Kurt Baumgardner. Before going independent, Kurt led IT modernization at the U.S. Small Business Administration for systems supporting 2,500+ financial institutions and $1B+ in monthly transactions, and ran operations at a federal risk analytics firm where his team built the first lender-level risk measurement system for SBA's 7(a) loan portfolio. 15+ years in fintech and risk analytics underpins how we approach data, modeling, and what's actually going to break in production.
Tech stack: Next.js, TypeScript, Tailwind, Python, FastAPI, Supabase, PostgreSQL, Claude & Gemini API
