Senior Wireless Systems Engineer at Skylo

Soham Desai has a diverse work experience beginning in 2014 when they co-founded Ecomappers, a company that manufactures air and noise pollution measuring devices. In 2016, they interned at Play Automation, Crestron Electronics Inc. where they designed and developed modules for sensor based lighting, curtains and alarm system automation, priority based digital set top box distribution system design, and digital music system and home theater automation. From 2017 to 2018, they were a tutor at the Academic Resource Center at University at Buffalo and a supervisor at the Electronics Tinkering Lab. In 2018, they were a Graduate Research Student at University at Buffalo, where they proposed and developed a hybrid underwater distributed MIMO system using Acoustic antennas for beamforming and magnetic induction antennas for synchronization amongst the distributed transceivers. In 2019, they became a Senior Wireless Engineer at Samsung Electronics America, where they worked on 5G/LTE Physical and Layer one issues and algorithms. Currently, they are a Wireless Systems Engineer at Skylo Technologies.

Soham Desai's education history includes a Bachelor of Engineering (B.E.) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from KJ Somaiya College of Engineering, Vidyavihar from 2013 to 2017, a Master of Science (MS) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from University at Buffalo from 2017 to 2019, and a high school education from M.D.Bhatia High School from 2001 to 2010. Additionally, Soham has obtained certifications from Cisco, ARM, Cypress Semiconductor Corporation, and Eduvance, including a Cisco Certified Network Associate Routing and Switching (CCNA Routing and Switching) in August 2017, an ARM University Program Training Course on Embedded System Design and Programming in June 2016, a Cypress University Alliance Training Program on Internet of Things in June 2016, and a Summer Industrial Training in Embedded Systems and Internet of Things in June 2016.
