Joshua Smith has worked in a variety of roles since 1999. Joshua began their career in the US Army as a Military Police in 1999. In 2006, they joined the United States Army Criminal Investigation Command as a Special Agent and Digital Forensics Examiner, where they supervised and managed the Drug Suppression Team, Special Victims Unit, and the General Crimes Team. In 2019, Joshua Smith moved to Joint Special Operations Command / CACI, where they acted as a Digital Forensics Examiner. In this role, they conducted Digital Forensics Analysis of Captured Enemy Material in support of the Joint Special Operations Command (JSOC), collaborated with partners on investigations, and identified and preserved evidence for use in counter terrorism operations and legal proceedings. In 2021, Joshua Smith joined Oxygen Forensics as an Instructor. Currently, Joshua Smith is working as a Senior UAS Forensic Specialist at SkySafe and a Senior Consultant at Baker Tilly US.
Joshua Smith has a Bachelor of Science degree in Information Technology from Trident University. Joshua has also completed training from the US Army Military Police School in Forensics and Law Enforcement, as well as the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center. Additionally, Smith has obtained several certifications, including Passware Certified Examiner from Passware (2021), Master Cellular Device Technician from Wild PCS Mobile Forensics (2019), Certified Digital Forensic Examiner from Mile2 (2018), Reveal Review Certified from Reveal-Brainspace (2022), Magnet Certified Forensic Examiner from Magnet Forensics (2022), Oxygen Forensics Certification from Oxygen Forensics (2020), Private Investigator from the Florida Department of Agriculture and Consumer Services (2018), Certified Blacklight Examiner from BlackBag Technologies (2019), and Certified Computer Crime Investigator from the DoD Cyber Crime Center (DC3) (2008).
