Wayne Bell is an accomplished engineering leader with extensive experience in software development and team management. Since May 2014, Wayne has held various positions at Skyscanner, currently serving as Director of Engineering, responsible for scaling the team to support the Direct Booking platform. Wayne has successfully expanded the engineering team from 3 to 12 squads, totaling 120 engineers across multiple locations. Prior roles at Skyscanner include Senior Engineering Manager and Engineering Manager, where Wayne led backend development for e-commerce solutions. Previous experience includes being a Senior Software Engineer at Peach Digital, where Wayne designed a global cinema ticketing platform, and serving as Lead Software Engineer at WeeWorld, contributing to numerous website features. Earlier in the career, Wayne worked at Snowdrop Systems as a Software Support Engineer and completed a scholarship project for the University of Glasgow to design a scalable e-commerce website. Wayne holds a BSc in Computer Science from the University of Glasgow.
