Rain Öpik

CTO at SkySelect

Rain Öpik is the current Chief Technical Officer at SkySelect. Prior to this, they were a researcher and lecturer at Tallinn University of Technology from September 2008 to June 2013. There, they taught courses on Object-oriented Programming in Java, Analysis of Information Systems, Data Warehousing and ERP-systems. Her research work focused on Data Analysis, Data Mining, Visualization and HC Interaction.

From December 2011 to September 2019, they were the CTO & Co-founder of DeltaBid. DeltaBid is a smart procurement management software that is as easy to use as email. DeltaBid helps companies manage requests (RFI, RFQ, RFP) in real time and provides instant oversight, control and transparency for both buyers and suppliers in the sourcing process.

Prior to DeltaBid, they worked as a software developer at Columbus IT Partner Estonia from December 2009 to May 2010. There they were responsible for the analysis and design of Business Intelligence solutions as well as the development of BI solutions based on MS SQL toolkit (SSRS, SSAS). Rain also participated in ERP software development (MS Dynamics AX).

Before their work in Estonia, they were a software developer at AS Smarten Logistics from April 2005 to November 2009 and an IT specialist at OÜ Jaotuskeskus from December 2004 to April 2005.

Rain Öpik has a Master of Science in Information Technology from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in Information Technology from TalTech – Tallinn University of Technology.

Rain Öpik reports to Erkki Brakmann, CEO. Rain Öpik works with Craig Skilton - Director of Business Development & Operations, Kamil Gaynutdinov - VP of Sales, EMEA, and Jeroen Van Duren - Head of Implementation.
