Bas Tichelaar

Bas Tichelaar has a diverse range of work experience in the IT industry. Bas has served as a Managing Director at Skyworkz, a boutique consultancy focused on cloud technology, since May 2019. Additionally, they are a Co-organiser of the Blipz on the Radar conference, a tech conference for software developers, cloud and data engineers, and security experts. Bas has also worked as an Advisor at Smartworkz and Groundworkz.

Prior to their current roles, Bas worked as an Independent Consultant at Transavia, where they conducted investigations to improve testing quality. Bas also served as the Company of One at Experimentor, helping companies develop an IT culture of experimentation.

Furthermore, Bas has held the roles of Co-founder, technical sales, and marketing at instruqt, an interactive tutorial platform, and Principal Consultant and IT architect at Xebia Nederland B.V., where they helped companies implement Continuous Delivery, DevOps transformations, and cloud migrations.

Before that, Bas worked as an Application Engineer at Rabobank, bridging the gap between developers and operations, and as a Senior Consultant at CRI-Service B.V.

Throughout their career, Bas has taken part in organizing various events and meetups, demonstrating their passion for sharing knowledge and fostering collaboration within the IT community.

Bas Tichelaar received their education from various institutions. Bas attended the University of Amsterdam from 2004 to 2007, where they studied Medical Information Science. Later, from 2007 to 2010, they pursued Business Studies (Commercial Economics) at Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences. Before their university education, they completed their VWO degree at De Goudse Waarden from 1997 to 2003. Alongside their formal education, Bas also acquired numerous certifications, including the CKA (Certified Kubernetes Administrator) from The Linux Foundation in 2022 and the Google Certified Professional - Cloud Architect from Google Cloud Certified in 2017. Bas also obtained certifications from Red Hat, Puppet, ITIL, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) at different times.
