Kara Levy

Kara Levy currently serves as Vice President of Software Engineering at Slack, a position held since November 2022. Prior to this role, Kara Levy was an Engineering Director at Google from September 2010 to November 2022, where responsibilities included leading engineering efforts for Google Workspace for Education and launching key initiatives such as Google Assignments and Originality Reports. Previous roles at Google included Software Engineering Manager and Staff Software Engineer, with major contributions to products like Google Classroom, Google Forms, and G Suite for Education. Kara Levy began the career as a Software Engineer, co-founding Google Classroom and contributing to Google Docs and Google Sites. Earlier experience includes serving as Program Officer for the Human Rights Foundation from July 2006 to July 2008. Kara Levy earned a Master’s degree in Computer Science from Stanford University and a Bachelor's degree in English Language and Literature from Harvard University.
