Raj Kumar is a seasoned technology professional with extensive experience in engineering management and software development. Currently serving as a Senior Engineering Manager for Search Infrastructure at Slack since September 2016, Raj oversees the development of next-generation search and data infrastructure to enhance Slack AI. Prior roles at Slack include managing infrastructure teams in Realtime Messaging, Edge Services, and Data Management, as well as contributions to the Slack Calls WebRTC server and API. Before Slack, Raj worked as Lead iOS Engineer at Room/Flurry Live and as a Senior Software Engineer at Internet Archive, where significant contributions were made to high-traffic sites and innovative server stacks. Raj began a career at Apple Computer as a Video Codec Engineer, focusing on video codecs for Mac OS X and Windows. Raj holds a Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering from Carnegie Mellon University.
