Tom Woodley

Tom Woodley has over 20 years of work experience in programming and computer vision research. Tom began their career in 1998 as a Programmer at Logica. In 2000, they moved to BAM! Entertainment as a Programmer. In 2002, they worked as an AI & Gameplay Programmer at Computer Artworks. Tom then worked as an AI & Gameplay Programmer at Climax Racing from 2003 to 2006. In 2006, they became a PhD student in Computer Vision at the University of Cambridge. In 2009, they joined Sony Computer Entertainment Europe as a Senior Engineer and Computer Vision Researcher. In 2013, they worked as a Senior Quantitative Analyst and Game Developer at invstr ltd. From 2014 to 2016, they were the Director of Albermarle Consulting Limited, where they worked on projects related to vision system components, transforming research code into efficient demo-able production code, calibration, and AR systems. Since 2018, they have been working as the Deputy Head of R&D and Senior Computer Vision R&D Engineer at SLAMcore Limited.

Tom Woodley completed their education with a PhD from the University of Cambridge in 2009, a MRes from the University of Manchester in 1998, and a MMaths (Hons) from the University of Manchester in 1997. Their fields of study were Computer Vision, Informatics, and Mathematics, respectively.
