Chris Barman

Chris Barman is an experienced executive with a strong background in the automotive and technology sectors. Currently serving as Chief Executive Officer at Slate since May 2022, Chris is focused on opportunities within the electric vehicle market. Previously, Chris held significant roles at HCL Technologies as Global Vice President of Strategic Business Development and Solutions for Transportation, and at New Shore, LLC as Principal, providing advisory services in emerging technologies. Notably, Chris served as Senior Vice President and Chief Technology Officer for Eaton, overseeing a large team of engineers and driving digital innovation. Chris’s extensive experience also includes various leadership positions at FCA Fiat Chrysler Automobiles, where Chris managed substantial budgets and engineering teams while advancing key vehicle programs. Academic credentials include a BS in Mechanical Engineering from Purdue University, an MS in Mechanical Engineering from Oakland University, and an MBA from the University of Michigan.
