Ben Watt

Ben Watt is an accomplished chemist with extensive experience in the oil and gas industry. Currently serving as Lead Chemist at SLB since July 2025, previously held the same title at ChampionX from May 2012 to July 2025, where responsibilities included managing the product life cycle of various chemical products and leading technical projects focused on corrosion inhibitors. Ben's expertise also extends to product management and development within the Eastern Hemisphere, with a particular interest in alternative iron sulphide scale dissolvers. Earlier career roles included a Sales Representative position focused on scale management for CNOOC UK Assets and a Development Chemist role in scale. Academic credentials include a BSc (Hons) in Chemistry with Management from The University of Edinburgh and a Masters Level Short Course in Leading Change from the University of Aberdeen.
