Michael Williams is a seasoned Principal AI Research Scientist at SLB, with over 25 years of experience in the field. Current research interests include causal-AI and neural network verification focusing on trust and safety, alongside a growing emphasis on auditable AI outputs for emissions estimation and technoeconomic modeling. Michael has held various roles at SLB, including Research Program Manager and Principal Research Scientist, where responsibilities spanned line and project management, team leadership, and the development of innovative digital solutions for large-scale data processing. Michael's academic background includes a PhD in Ionospheric Tomography from Aberystwyth University and an MSc in Exploration Geophysics from Imperial College London.
