Thomas Gruner is a Senior Research Scientist focused on a multidisciplinary approach at the intersection of solid state physics, material science, and solid state chemistry. They currently serve as an Academic Visitor in the Quantum Matter Group at the Cavendish Laboratory and recently worked at SLB, contributing to geothermal energy and thermal energy programs. Previously, Thomas was a Research Fellow at Darwin College, University of Cambridge, and a Postdoctoral Researcher at the Max Planck Society, where they developed prototype setups and optimized synthesis processes. They earned both a Diplom and a Dr. rer. nat. in Physics from Technische Universität Dresden, graduating magna cum laude.
