Xuming Chen is currently an SLB Advisor, leading elastomer R&D for oilfield applications at SLB since 2024, while also holding the position of Principal Engineer at Schlumberger since 2020. They previously served as a Senior Polymer Engineer at Cameron and as a Senior Research Engineer at Dow Chemical. Xuming's early career included a role as Research and Development Group Lead at the Beijing Research Institute of Chemical Industry with Sinopec from 1997 to 2000. Xuming holds a Ph.D. in Polymer from Stony Brook University and a Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry from Beijing University of Chemical Technology.
