Expert Gameplay Engineer at Sledgehammer Games

Ben Wang has a diverse and extensive work experience in the gaming industry. Ben started their career as a Gameplay Programmer at SCEA in 2005, then moved on to work as a Software Engineer at Treyarch, where they worked on various gameplay systems for Quantum of Solace: The Game. Ben also worked as a Software Engineer at Video Gaming Technologies and Robomodo before joining Telltale Games as a Gameplay Programmer.

In 2012, Ben returned to Bioware as a Gameplay Programmer, focusing on combat visuals and player-facing character systems. Ben then joined Electronic Arts as a Software Engineer, primarily working on gameplay modes and UI for Tiger Woods '14. Ben later returned to Bioware as a Software Engineer and worked on general gameplay programming tasks.

Ben then joined Trion Worlds, Inc. as a Senior Gameplay Engineer where they were responsible for building features for character classes and core systems in Trove, as well as core gameplay features for Atlas Rogues and Rapier. Ben also authored multiple gameplay systems for Defiance 2050 and took ownership of several old systems.

Most recently, Ben joined Sledgehammer Games as an Expert Gameplay Engineer in 2022.

Ben Wang attended the University of California, Berkeley from 1997 to 2001 and received a Bachelor's of Science degree in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science.
