Long-time private equity investor and serial entrepreneur, Ranvir Gujral, founded the firm when he recognized a void for funding options for companies in this life stage.

The name Sleeping Bear Capital is a reference both to Sleeping Bear Dunes, one of Ranvir's cherished spots in his home state of Michigan, and to the notion of finding businesses that have not yet woken to their fullest potential.
