Andre Pretorius

Andre Pretorius has a diverse work experience spanning several industries and roles. Andre started their career in 1994 as a Manager at Odyssey Internet Cafes, where they were responsible for managing the cafe and making coffee. In 1995, they joined the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry as an Information Technology Desktop Support, later transitioning to the role of Network Administrator and Desktop Support. During this time, they supported around 130 DWAF stations across Gauteng.

In 1999, Andre briefly worked as a Technical Writer at Peralex Electronics, but had to leave due to a family tragedy. Andre then rejoined the Department of Water Affairs and Forestry as an Information Technology Desktop Support, before becoming a Technical Writer in 2006 at Systemsfusion. Unfortunately, the company closed down in 2008 due to the industry crash.

From 1998 to 2010, Andre worked as a Freelance Technical Writer, gaining experience in various companies and industries. Andre also had short periods working in other fields, such as managing a Bed & Breakfast kitchen and working in the music industry.

In 2010, Andre joined Electromode as a Digital Music Admin, responsible for administrative tasks related to digital music. Andre then transitioned to K2 in 2011, where they worked as a Senior / API Technical Writer until 2020. Andre then joined Nintex as an API Technical Writer until 2023. Andre is currently working at ShareDo as a Senior Technical Writer / Content Specialist since April 2023.

Andre Pretorius attended The Glen High School from 1986 to 1990, where they did not obtain a degree or specify a field of study. After high school, Andre went on to study at UNISA, where they earned a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) degree in English/Psychology. Additionally, Andre has obtained several certifications, including "Editing and Proofreading Made Simple" from LinkedIn in August 2022.
