Philipp Heckel

Philipp Heckel is an experienced engineering leader currently serving as the Head of Engineering at Slide since May 2024. As the Founder and Maintainer of ntfy since October 2021, Philipp has developed a simple HTTP-based pub-sub notification service that enables notifications to be sent to devices via scripts or a REST API. Prior experience includes roles as Sr. Principal Software Engineer at Datto, Inc., where Philipp designed and implemented projects for a hyper-converged SaaS platform, and held various engineering positions contributing to the backup appliance. At Deutsche Bank, Philipp worked as a Solution Architect, focusing on Output Management Systems post-merger, and previously co-founded Silversun GbR, a web and print design company. Philipp holds a Master of Science in Business Informatics from the University of Mannheim and studied Business Informatics at Singapore Management University.
