Slocat Group helps small business owners put AI agents to work on the operations that are eating their time and margins.

We're an operator-led practice, not a developer shop. Founded by Faris Chesnutt after 34 years of doing this exact work from inside the supply chain seat at companies like Altria, Valspar, Sherwin-Williams, Cormetech, and Silfab Solar — and earlier still, with Excel macros (pre-VBA) on JD Edwards exports as a non-IT supply chain hire at a textile company in 1992.

A few chapters along the way:

• Valspar — a VBA finite scheduler for seven powder-coating factories, with a dedicated laptop firing keystrokes back into Oracle at midnight. Layered a Monte Carlo setup-time optimizer on top that lifted plant capacity 20% with no capex.

• Cormetech — three legacy ERPs consolidated onto Sage 100 over a weekend, after the consultants couldn't do it in months. Indirect-spend bid packages built from ChatGPT-extracted PDFs saved over $200K a year.

• Silfab Solar — Python-generated PDF (via ChatGPT) placards from Business Central BOMs to stop wrong materials from being staged at the wrong line.

The shape never changed. Find the workaround. Get the data flowing. Take the busywork off people. The tools improved — and now culminate in agent stacks like Claude Code and OpenClaw — but the underlying job is one we've been doing the whole time.

What Slocat Group sells:

• Install OpenClaw (or other Agentic AI tool) as the agent gateway and Claude Code (or other AI coder) for deeper engineering — on infrastructure the client owns
• Integrate it with the tools they already pay for — ERP, CRM, accounting, email, calendar
• Teach the owner to drive it themselves, or maintain it on their behalf

For small business owners spending $200–$1,000+ a month on SaaS that doesn't talk to itself, plus more on contractors who can't bridge it — Slocat Group is the alternative.

Based in Charlotte, NC. Remote engagements across the US.
