WELCOME TO THE OFFICIAL SLOWTEA ALLIANCE PAGE ON LINKEDIN

SlowTEA Alliance (国际慢茶联盟) is an international non-profit and non-governmental organization working to promote Good (优质), Clean (洁净), and Fair (公平) tea and infusions production and consumption.

We are building an alliance to defend local tea traditions, protect local biodiversity, preserve traditional and artisanal products, and promote small-scale quality teas.

The SlowTEA Alliance traces its roots back to 2004, in the Piedmont region of Italy — the birthplace of the global go slow movement. Inspired by Carlo Petrini’s Slow Food philosophy, a group of pioneers and visionaries drafted the founding manifesto of Slow Tea and laid the foundations for what would become a global alliance. This marked the beginning of the Slow Tea movement — an active international network committed to promoting the production and consumption of Good, Clean, and Fair tea.

Over the years, we have shaped this vision into a clear and measurable concept of quality, one that looks beyond taste alone to embrace tea’s origins and terroir, encompassing cultural and environmental aspects. It is from this holistic understanding of quality that SlowTEA Alliance has developed its own unique and original certification system, designed to recognize and protect the value of individual tea productions.

Through this system, we aim to support specialty tea farmers and producers in meeting consumer expectations and protecting the credibility of their brand. This certification system is part of SlowTEA Alliance’s broader strategy to promote local tea traditions, protect biodiversity, preserve traditional and artisanal products, and support small-scale, high-quality teas.
