Alan Mitchell is an MRTPI qualified Planner and ESIA Project Manager currently leading the Planning and Environmental & Social Impact Assessment team at SLR Consulting in the European region. With extensive experience in coordinating planning and permitting for major infrastructure projects, Alan has worked primarily with energy companies, focusing on innovative renewable technologies such as deep geothermal. Since November 2017, Alan has directed the European ESIA technical discipline, having previously held positions as a Principal and Technical Director at SLR Consulting. Alan's earlier roles included Senior Planner at Tarmac Ltd. and Associate at Mono Consultants, where they managed acquisition and planning teams across various industries. Alan earned a MA Hons in Town and Country Planning from the Edinburgh College of Art.
