David Prothro is an experienced underground miner with a career spanning over a decade in various mining roles across multiple companies. Currently employed at Small Mine Development, LLC since September 2019, Prothro works as an underground miner at the Turquoise Ridge in northern Nevada. Previous roles include short-term positions with Climax Mining, as well as extensive experience with Thyssen Mining, where Prothro served as a shaft and underground miner from October 2017 to August 2019, training employees on bolter and jumbo operations. Notable earlier positions included operating bolters and jumbos at Newmont Mining's Leeville mine and various underground tasks at Klondex Mines Ltd. and Barrick Gold Corporation, where Prothro gained substantial expertise in operating mining equipment, bolting, and explosives handling.
