Nicolas Jakob has a range of experience in the tech industry. Nicolas started their career at Borotec SA as an IT Consultant from September 2012 to March 2014. Nicolas then went on to co-found and serve as the CTO of Wicard, a platform for sharing favorite places, from May 2014 to July 2016. Their responsibilities at Wicard included analyzing technological needs, designing and implementing web services, maintaining infrastructure, providing technical guidance, and pitching the company at public events. Since September 2016, Nicolas has been working at Smallpdf, where they initially held the position of Senior Frontend Engineer until March 2017, and is currently serving as the Lead Frontend Engineer.

Nicolas Jakob started their education in 2004 at CPLN Neuchâtel, where they pursued a field of study in Computer Science and obtained a Federal Certificate of Vocational Education and Training (CFC) in 2007. Nicolas then continued their studies at CPLN Neuchâtel from 2007 to 2009, specializing in Computer and Telecommunications and earning the degree of a Technician (ES).

In 2009, Jakob enrolled at the School of Management and Engineering Vaud (HEIG-VD), where they pursued a Bachelor's Degree in Software Engineering. Nicolas completed their studies in 2012.

Following their Bachelor's degree, Jakob continued their education at the University of Applied Sciences Western Switzerland (HES-SO) from 2012 to 2014, where they obtained a Master's Degree in Information and Communications Technologies, specializing in Software Engineering.
