Sofia Potapova

Sofia Potapova has a diverse work experience in the field of data science and machine learning. Sofia is the co-founder and Head of DS at SmallTalk2.me, where they designed and developed an English Speaking Grammatical/Pronunciation Error Correction pipeline. Sofia also worked as a Teaching Assistant at the Skolkovo Institute of Science and Technology and the Yandex School of Data Analysis. Sofia was an Alumnus of class 26 at the Alchemist Accelerator. Prior to that, they were a Lead ML Engineer at Orcadt, where they designed and developed Car Detection and Tracking and Face Detection and Recognition pipelines. Sofia also worked as a Machine Learning Engineer at Flatlogic LLC, where they designed and developed a 2D object detector and a data collection pipeline. Sofia has experience as a Research and Development Engineer at Yandex, where they worked on perception algorithms for the Self-Driving Cars Team, focusing on LiDAR point cloud filters for adverse weather conditions and developing a 3D point cloud pedestrians detector.

Sofia Potapova completed their Bachelor's degree in Mathematics and Computer Science at Moscow Institute of Physics and Technology (State University) (MIPT) from 2013 to 2017. Sofia then went on to pursue a Master's degree in Computer Science at the same institution, which they completed between 2017 and 2019. During their time as a master's student, they also attended Yandex School of Data Analysis as a student in Data Analysis from 2017 to 2019.
