Ron Ondrey

Ron Ondrey possesses extensive experience in design and prototyping, currently serving as Shop Manager at Smart Design since 2008. In this role, Ron played a key part in establishing the Prototyping Shop, maintaining legacy machines, and acquiring new tools to enhance operational workflows. As a Senior Design Prototyper, Ron focused on transforming ideas into physical interactive experiences efficiently, while previously serving as a Design Prototyper, where skills in material knowledge and fabrication techniques were applied to develop innovative solutions. Prior to Smart Design, Ron was the Advanced R&D Shop Manager at Marvel Entertainment, gaining a broad understanding of the toy industry encompassing design, prototyping, and production. Ron holds a degree in Industrial Design Technologies from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, which includes expertise in model making, animation, interactive technology, and special effects.
