Jay Turcot

Jay Turcot has a diverse work experience in the field of Artificial Intelligence and Computer Vision. Jay is currently working as the VP of Applied AI at Smart Eye, starting in June 2021. Prior to this, they worked at Affectiva, where they held various roles including VP of AI from April 2019 to June 2021, Director of Applied AI from June 2016 to April 2019, Lead Scientist from January 2014 to May 2016, Senior Computer Vision Scientist from October 2012 to January 2014, and Systems Engineer from January 2011 to October 2012. Before joining Affectiva, they briefly worked as a Vision Scientist at Evolution Robotics Retail in 2007 and as a Vision Scientist Intern in 2006. Overall, Jay has gained extensive experience and expertise in AI, Computer Vision, and leadership roles throughout their career.

Jay Turcot earned a Bachelor's degree in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, where they studied from 2002 to 2007. Jay then pursued a Master's degree in Computer Vision at The University of British Columbia from 2007 to 2010.
