Greg Kats

Greg Kats is the Founder and CEO of the Smart Surfaces Coalition, a coalition of 40 organizations focused on urban health, sustainability, and technology integration for better city management. In addition to leading Smart Surfaces Coalition since February 2019, Kats serves as Managing Director at Renewergy and has been a Board Member at Blue Planet since 2013, contributing to carbon sequestration initiatives. As President of Capital E since 2008, Kats has directed efforts in energy efficiency and renewable energy investments, and previously held the role of Managing Director at Good Energies from 2006 to 2010. Kats held a significant position at the U.S. Department of Energy from 1993 to 2000 as the Director of Financing for Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy. Educational achievements include an MBA from Stanford University, a Masters in Public Administration from Princeton University, and a BA from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
