John Knight

John Knight has extensive work experience in the IT field, spanning multiple industries and roles. John is currently working as the VP | Enterprise Applications Manager at SmartBank, where they oversee the performance of Applications, Infrastructure, and Data Analytics. Prior to this, they worked at the University of Tennessee System as an IT Manager, responsible for managing Windows, Linux, SAP, Oracle, and SQL environments.

Before their time at the university, John was the Application Support Manager at Lirio. John also served as the IT Manager at Newport Utilities, where they focused on improving IT service delivery and architecture using virtualization and documentation. Additionally, they served as the Program Manager for the Fiber to the Premise (FTTx) project.

John has also held IT managerial positions at Bailey International LLC and Aqua-Chem, where they were responsible for modernizing the IT departments and managing infrastructure, application support, DB, and Telecom. John has experience managing budgets, leading teams, and supporting company growth.

Prior to their managerial roles, John worked as a Consultant/Owner at IT Strategies, specializing in providing IT expertise and solutions for small and medium-sized businesses. John also worked at Clayton Homes as an IT Operations Manager and later as a Project Manager, where they successfully implemented an ECM system.

John Knight has a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Management and Operations from Tennessee Wesleyan University. John also holds an Associate of Science degree in Computer Science from Pellissippi State Community College.
