Lee Smith

Lee serves as Alabama Chairman for SmartBank. With 35 years of experience in the banking industry, Lee provides expertise in development and execution of the bank’s commercial banking strategy and market expansion in Alabama and the Southeast. Lee attended Baylor University where he received his BBA and MBA degrees in Finance and Entrepreneurship. Prior to joining SmartBank, Lee served as EVP and East Region CEO of BBVA USA. Lee is a 2002 graduate of Leadership Birmingham and a 2013 graduate of Leadership Alabama. Lee serves on several community based civic and ministry boards, including the Birmingham Business Alliance, Innovation Depot. the Economic Development Partnership of Alabama, and The Salvation Army of Greater Birmingham.
