Doug Harris has a diverse work experience spanning over multiple industries. Doug started their career as a Copy Editor/Page Designer at The Daily Star in 1998. After that, they worked as a Copy Editor/Page Designer and Lead Sports Designer at News & Record from 2001 to 2006. Doug then moved on to become a Sports Page Designer/Copy Editor at The Charlotte Observer from 2006 to 2007.
Doug then worked as the Member Services Director at Stokes Family YMCA from 2007 to 2008. Following that, they joined The Fayetteville Observer as an Assistant News Editor in 2008 and gradually advanced to the role of Metro/Business Editor from 2013 to 2014.
In 2014, Doug started working at SmartBrief where they held various positions, including Copy Editor, Custom Content Editor, Health Editor, Associate Director of Content, Health Care, and currently, Director of Content, Health Care and Life Sciences.
Doug Harris attended Henninger High School from 1989 to 1993. Doug then went on to pursue a Bachelor of Arts degree in Journalism at Syracuse University from 1993 to 1997.
