Caroline Gavin PhD is a PD Scientist in Cell Therapy at Procella Therapeutics AB since March 2020, focusing on developing cardiac stem cell therapies for advanced heart failure in collaboration with AstraZeneca. Prior to this role, Caroline pursued a PhD at Karolinska Institutet from 2013 to 2019, researching the interactions of human bone marrow mesenchymal stem cells with immune cells and their potential applications in autoimmune diseases and graft versus host disease. Caroline's experience also includes an internship at IQVIA in 2019, where support was provided for real-world evidence research, as well as research assistant positions at Victor Chang Cardiac Research Institute and the University of Sydney, contributing to projects in cell therapy and reproductive toxicology, respectively. Caroline holds a PhD in Cell Therapy and Immunology from Karolinska Institutet, as well as a Master of Science in Molecular Biology from the University of Gothenburg and additional master's-level education from the National University of Singapore and Uppsala University.

A globally licensed cardiac stem cell therapy is entering clinical stages (in collaboration with AstraZeneca) and there is a growing pipeline of projects in different stages of development, with dopamine producing cells for Parkinson´s Disease and our own iMSCs most advanced.
