Maya Carrillo

Maya Carrillo began their career in 2014 as a Conservation Education Intern at Fossil Rim Wildlife Center. In 2015, they took on multiple roles at Smarter Sorting, including Technical Project Manager, Product Owner, Operations Specialist, and Environmental Intern. Maya also began working at Austin Nature & Science Center in 2015 as a Lead Counselor.

Maya Carrillo obtained a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Biochemistry and Cell Biology and a Bachelor of Arts (B.A.) in Ecology and Evolutionary Biology from Rice University between 2009 and 2013. Additionally, in October 2013, they obtained a certification in AHA CPR and First Aid from the American Heart Association.
