Michael Xenikakis has a diverse background in the museum sector. Michael started their career as a Museum Professional and Museologist at the Hellenic Telecommunications Organisation Museum, where they organized and labeled items and ensured compliance with safety regulations.
Michael then worked at the Folklore Museum, conducting historical research and assessing the potential for museum exhibits.
After that, Michael joined the Tank Museum as an Archives Assistant, Curatorial Intern, Exhibition Assistant, and Visitor Services Assistant. In these roles, they conducted research, surveyed visitors, facilitated museum programs, and assisted with communication between museums.
Michael also worked as a Museum Photographer and 3D Specialist at various organizations, including the Numismatic Museum of Athens, the Skironio Museum Polychronopoulos, the Melina Mercouri Foundation, and the Benaki Museum.
Most recently, they served as the Partnerships Manager for Greece and Europe at Smartify, a digital platform connecting people with art and museums. Michael also worked as a Data Entry Operator, gathering and organizing data for collaborating venues.

Michael Xenikakis has a strong educational background in the field of Museology/Museum Studies. Michael earned a Hons BA in Museology/Museum Studies from Technological Educational Institute Western Greece, where they studied from 2007 to 2015. Later, they pursued further education and obtained a Master of Arts (MA) degree in Museology/Museum Studies from the University of Leicester from 2017 to 2018.
In addition to their formal academic education, Michael Xenikakis also holds several relevant certifications. Michael obtained the "Athens Drone - Drone Pilot Qualification, A1-A3, A2" from the National & Kapodistrian University of Athens in September 2022. Michael also received the "English Language Teaching Unit (ELTU)" certification from the University of Leicester in October 2016. Furthermore, they completed the "Examination for the Certificate of Competency in English" administered by the University of Michigan in May 2004.
Additionally, Michael Xenikakis has obtained certifications in First Aid at Work (Level 3 Award) from Babcock TMASS in July 2018, and the International English Language Testing System (IELTS Academic) from the British Council in March 2015.
