Simon Elmore's work experience begins in 1998 as a Revenue Accounts Clerk at London Cargo Centre. Simon then moved on to Menzies Aviation in 2000, where they worked as an Airline Revenue Coordinator and later as Deputy Revenue Manager. In 2004, Elmore joined Hermes Logistics Technologies, initially as a Product Specialist, and gradually moved up to Product Manager, Product Director, and finally Chief Operating Officer. During this time, they were also the Managing Director of The Air Cargo Consultant. In 2018, Elmore worked as an Analysis and Test Team Manager at BRITISH AIRWAYS HOLIDAYS LIMITED. Simon then took on the role of Interim Chief Operating Officer at Hermes Logistics Technologies in 2020. Currently, Elmore works at SmartKargo as the VP of Cargo Solutions, where they are responsible for the product and project strategy for air cargo and e-commerce software solutions, including a cross-border B2C e-commerce platform for a major airline brand.

Simon Elmore completed their Bachelor of Arts (BA) in English Literature at Brunel University London from 1997 to 2000. Simon also obtained a Cert HE in Natural Sciences from The Open University between 2008 and 2011. Prior to their university education, they attended Reading School from 1989 to 1997, where they achieved 3 A Levels and 11 GCSEs.

In addition to their formal education, Simon Elmore has obtained several certifications. In 2018, they became a Certified Scrum Master® (CSM®) through the Scrum Alliance®. Simon also received certifications in Safeguarding Children from HSQE LIMITED and the England Rugby Coaching Award (Level 2) from England Rugby in the same year. In 2012, they earned the PRINCE2 Practitioner and PRINCE2 Foundation certifications from APMG International. Furthermore, they obtained the Emergency First Aid in Rugby Union certification from the Rugby Football Union in 2019.
