Robert Walatka is a PhD student at the University of Chicago, focusing on applied behavioral economics related to household finance and energy/environment since September 2024. Previously, Walatka served as a predoctoral fellow at the Harris School of Public Policy, conducting research on behavioral science and energy policy alongside Professor Kim Wolske. Experience also includes two roles as a research assistant, where Walatka investigated the impact of energy cost salience on consumer behavior and engaged in econometric analysis for behavioral interventions. Prior to academic positions, Walatka worked in financial consulting at KPMG and held various internships related to financial advising and research. Walatka holds a Master of Public Policy from the University of Chicago and a Bachelor’s degree in Finance and Marketing from the University of Washington.
