Clay Conner has a diverse work experience spanning over three decades. Clay began their career as a Consultant at Automated Training Systems in 1989 and later worked as an Economic Analyst at Idaho Power Company from 1991 to 1997. Clay then joined IDACORP as a Strategic Planning Associate in 1997 and later transitioned to the role of Product Manager at IDACORP Services from 1998 to 2000. Clay then worked as the General Manager at IDACORP Solutions from 2000 to 2002.
In 2002, Clay founded their own consulting company, The Conner Group, LLC, where they served as President. Clay provided strategy, marketing, and operations consulting services to technology startups and professional services firms. In addition to consulting, Clay also served as an executive and life coach to entrepreneurs.
In 2006, Clay joined 5 Degrees North as the Vice President, where they led business development, marketing, consulting project management, and operations. Clay co-developed a proprietary consulting methodology that generated significant benefits for clients in the chemical, energy, and process industry sectors.
Since 2013, Clay has been working at SmartStory Technologies, Inc. as the Senior Vice President. In this role, they lead the development, implementation, and management of client consulting and engagement processes to create video storytelling solutions. Clay has been responsible for improving client customer experiences and motivating consumer behavior change through the company's proprietary technology. Clay has managed relationships with various stakeholders, including large Fortune 100 firms in healthcare and technology sectors such as UnitedHealthcare, Samsung, Ford, CVS, and Rite Aid.
Clay Conner attended Boise State University from 1983 to 1988, where they obtained their Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics. In 1985, they briefly studied Economics and Finance at the University of Idaho. In addition to their educational background, Clay Conner also holds a Private Pilot Certificate (SEL) which they obtained from the Federal Aviation Administration in November 2008.
