Simon Wood

Simon Wood is an experienced electrical designer and systems engineer with over 20 years in the electronics and engineering fields. Currently serving as a Senior Electrical Designer in Cost Reduction Engineering at SMART Technologies since December 2015, Simon specializes in the system architecture and electronic design of Interactive White Boards and Integrated Flat Panel displays. Prior experience includes positions as a Senior Systems Engineer at Topcon Positioning Systems, focusing on GPS receiver design and testing, and as an Electronics Designer at Point Inc, where PCB design for GPS technology was a key responsibility. Additional roles include Senior Electrical Design Engineer at Pace Microtechnology, Design Engineer at Zed Instruments, and an IT Consultant at Fusion Digital Technology Ltd. Simon's career began with a student placement at Rutherford Appleton Laboratory, contributing to significant scientific projects. Simon holds a BEng (Hons) in Electrical and Electronics Engineering from the University of Surrey.
