Alyssa holds the playful title of Insights Know-It-All at Smarty Pants, a designation that is well-deserved. She is a skilled senior research analyst with a gift for unveiling impactful insights and innovative implications. Over the past seven years she has honed her skills across a wide-reaching variety of industries, including retail, chemical manufacturing, financial services, telecommunications, healthcare and editorial publishing. And as a youth and family expert who has authored multiple articles for industry trade publications, she has a deep understanding of the micro- and macro-trends, as well as the brands, that influence and impact consumers across ages and lifestages.

On a day-to-day basis, Alyssa can be found supporting all facets of Smarty Pants primary research – from screener and activity development to participant management to moderation and reporting. True to her marketing communications roots, Alyssa applies multi-method findings to develop seamless stories and carefully crafted reports that drive clients’ businesses forward.

Alyssa joined the Smarty Pants team in early 2018 as “Media Maven” responsible for developing content for the company’s website, social media channels, syndicated trend reports and industry publications. Previously, she worked as a marketing analyst at HTC—the world’s largest telecom cooperative—where she was responsible for growing the company’s security product. She began her career at Advance America, a financial services company, where she refined her ability to develop and execute effective communications strategies as a communications specialist.

Alyssa graduated magna cum laude from Coastal Carolina University with a Master of Business Administration. She also holds her Bachelor of Business Administration with majors in both marketing and accounting from East Tennessee State University. During her time at ETSU she was a proud member of three prestigious academic organizations. She also served as a senator on the Student Government Association and the VP of Community Service for the Gamma Delta chapter of Kappa Delta Sorority.
