Michael Atkinson

Michael has been a film critic for 25 years, and film studies professor at NYU, Long Island University and Hofstra University. He currently writes for The Village Voice, Sight & Sound, In These Times, TCM.com, The Progressive, LA Weekly, The Criterion Collection, Film Comment, and elsewhere. He is the author of seven books, including Ghost in the Machine: Speculating on the Dark Heart of Pop Cinema (Limelight Eds.) and Exile Cinema: Filmmakers at Work Beyond Hollywood (SUNY Press).
